I woke up to Chris' voice and tried to sit up still not noticing my brand mark glowing. I said softly "Morning Chris."

I smile and indicate her mark. "It's been glowing."

I looked at my branded hand and was thinking of a reason why and said softly "I think because my love for you his making it glow Chris, its not hurting which is a bit unusal cause it usually hurts when it glows." I gently stroked the familiar brand mark as I remembered my friend. I tried to sit up again and I was still to weak.

"Whoa there, Velvet." I say, supporting her. "Take it easy. Let me go make you some breakfast, alright?"

I smiled and said softly "Ok Chris." I lay down again and waited for Chris I stroked my brand mark and smiled I guessed my brand mark was glowing cause I'm getting stronger with my love for Chris. I sighed softly in a happy way. Matt smiled as he saw me stroke my brand mark he gently moved his hand to the locket on his neck as he remembered my friend.

I go out into the kitchen and start cooking breakfast for Velvet, smiling.

Matt smiled and watched me from his tree outside he asked through mindlink *Momma are you ok?* I smiled and replied to my son *Yes Matt I'm ok, still a bit weak but I'm sure you will find me a deer or something to feast on after breakfast.* Matt replied *Yes momma I will go and do that now.*

I walk back into the bedroom with a tray laden with food and set it in front of Velvet. "Here you go, Velvet." I say, smiling.

I smiled and tried to sit up again and rested against the wall and said "Thank you Chris, its look yummy." Matt was already near our hunting ground and he started hunting deer for me to drink after breakfast.

I pull out a mug of some red substance and hold it under Velvet's nose. "Guess what this is, Velvet."

I sniffed and smiled and said softly "Its your blood Chris, thank you." I tried to move up to hug Chris but I was still to weak and moved back down.

Matt came back with three deer and dragged them to his tree as he watched me and Chris. I hugged Chris back and kissed him and said "I really am in love with you Chris." My brand mark glowed a brighter blue.

I lay back as i was still weak from using my guardian aura for to long. I smiled and ate some food and then went to the cup of blood and drank it.

I sit down next to Velvet on my bed and put my arm around her shoulders. "Have I mentioned that I love you, Velvet?"

I smile and lean into Chris' side as he wrapped his arm around me and I said softy "Yes you did Chris, I love you to." I placed my branded hand on Chris' chest and smile as my brand mark glowed brighter.

"Well, you're Guardian's mark seems to be responding well to us being in love, Velvet." I remarked, noting the glow.

I smiled and said softly "On my hand isn't a guardian mark Chris look carefully. Yes it does seem to." I removed my branded hand from Chris' chest so he could see it wasn't a guardian mark. Matt smiled as he continued to watch us from his tree.

"What kind of a mark is that then, Velvet?" I asked, looking at it carefully and noticing the difference.

I said softly "It's brand mark that one of my friend's things burnt into my hand. Trace it with your finger and see if you can recognize the shape."

"Cassie, eh? I'm sorry to say that I cannot remember who that is." I said, tracing the heart with my finger, feeling the soft skin of the woman that I love.

I said "Cassie was a very good friend of mine, and she was wanting to give up forever and I held the locket which was the thing and it branded my hand, it hurt every now and then when it glowed but this time it isn't hurting me." I placed my branded hand back on Chris' chest and it continued glowing bright.
